this drive will work perfectly with time machine after you format it for the mac and instructions for this are all over the internet. very quiet and does not require an external power supply when i use it with my macbook.

When I lost all my data with my brick WD hard drive tripping to its side, I was looking for a drive that is compact and stays flat on the surface so less chance of tripping and accidental data loss. When I got it, I was surprised by its amazing looks and compact design. I use it primarily to play downloadable movies and songs through my PS3. I had to use a third party software to do it since windows 7 doesnt let me reformat it to FAT32, but no big deal..

Works great, no problems. For some odd reason it did not install right to my Dell laptop for the first time and it caused some of the drivers to get mixed up. But after reinstalling it, all works fine. I actually ordered one more, I liked it so much! Definitely recommend it!
