It's nice and small, enough space for plenty of stuff and not a bad price! It is a bit sensitive on power, it makes a horrible noise if you're using a USB hub or extension cable as a result of getting inefficient power since it has no dedicated power supply. Other than that it's worth every penny.

This is a small, lightweight and attractive drive, true to pictures and description. No software is needed to use the drive; you can just plug & play and drag & drop like you would with a USB-stick. Iomega does offer the option to download different kinds of backup software from their website. I don't really like most of this software (too complicated, I don't feel like messing around learning how to use it), though Iomega's own program (Quikprotect) appeals to me most. Just tell it when you want to back up changed files, and you're good to go.
This is a truly portable drive, seeing as it fits in the palm of your hand, is completely USB-powered and runs super quietly. The drive comes with a special double-ended USB-cord, so one plug can function as the power supply while the others handles data transfer. I haven't needed to use both plugs, but I have anyway and didn't notice any difference in performance. Some would say the drive is sluggish, but I always use it in combination with a notebook computer, which also has a 5400rpm hard drive. I don't have numbers to back this up, but the drive does not perform (noticeably)slower than my laptop, which is good. I'd give this aspect four stars though, because sometimes I guess it could be 'zippier', especially when communicating with the Iomega software (... although this is probably due to the software, not the drive). I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could, because this drive also manages to keep the temperatures cool while it's running. So I guess it's a trade-off: a little speed for everything else.
It seems sturdy and durable enough, but I'd be afraid to drop it on, say, tiled or wooden flooring. I do throw it in my laptop bag 'naked' (without a sleeve or case) and it doesn't seem to care.
All in all, I'd recommend this drive. Still, I've noticed the price of this drive fluctuates a considerable amount, so keep an eye on it for a while before buying. While good, probably not so much better than the competition to be worth a couple of tenners more.

Aunque no es de las mayores capacidades que existe hoy en día, umple con su objetivo. Es compacto y con un muy buen acabado.

I picked up one at Amazon about 6 months ago based on the ratings and price with a rebate although I did wait too long to turn in my rebate.
The original drive worked fine until I must have come to a damaged area on the drive. It then started making a bad chattering sound and I could no longer write to it. I deleted my backup files and after I recreated them I ran into the same problem at the same spot on the drive.
I called customer service and he wanted me to go through what I assume to be a set of trouble-shooting steps they ask all customers to do no matter what the symptoms are. I told him it was nonsense and a waste of both our times to do this. I could not even format the drive.
He then gave me three options for returning the drive. All three options cost money to send me a refurbished replacement. The cheapest option was to ship back the original and after they received it they would ship the refurbished drive.
I expressed extreme displeasure that it would cost me time and money to return a drive that was less than a week old. He asked his boss and they made arrangements to ship me a refurbished drive if I would let them put a $1 charge on my card until I returned the original. I consented to this although I told them I did not much care for getting a refurbished drive to replace a brand new one. He assured me they test the refurbished drives more thoroughly than they do the new ones. If they would run the new ones through the same battery of tests, I probably would not have had to contact them to begin with.
The refurbished drive works great. It stays cool and I can barely hear it.
I am assuming the majority of the new drives work fine. If you do have to call customer support, be prepared to stand up for what is right and they will probably take care of you. The customer service representative has to run everything by their manager that goes against their standard procedures.
BTW, I missed my rebate return date because I was going to watch the drive a couple of weeks before I accepted it as a replacement. I was not aware of the 30 day period for filing for the rebate.

The hardware is very good, but the backup software leaves a bit to be desired.
