before this hard drive I owned hp pocket media drive..to compare and oyen seemed very cheap..its a bit slower..and there isn't any falling protection .. enclosure scratches very easily..
On the other hand its very compact and small hard drive..I'd give 3 stars but...4 star is ok

Drive was delivered quickly and in excellent condition. Runs well and is just a little warm during operation. Do not leave it in travel case that is supplied, while in use, as it gets very hot! Speed of data in and out is good.

I would rate this at 5 stars, but the software is a little buggy under Windows 7. The encryption software seemed to install, but then had trouble recognizing the encrypted partition after removing and reattaching the device. Even when launching the software, it couldn't recognize the encrypted partition. After multiple failed attempts, I had to delete and repartition it without the NTI software.
The drive functions very well and is quiet. The hardware is great, the software leaves something to be desired. At least, that's the case when running Windows 7.
